Unique & quirky
Our bright and bushy tailed resident fox inspired our railway carriage theme and The Beehive was given it’s name in memory of the colony of bees which lived in our chimney.
Original railway carriage accommodation
Welcome to the only original railway carriage in Wiltshire! Our charming copsy carriage is nestled into the grounds of a 17th Century former dairy farm.
Caring for the earth
We try to be good custodians of the earth by using eco-friendly cleaning products, avoiding excess laundering and providing a haven in which wildlife can thrive and reproduce.
Back in 2010 and with no intention to move home, someone told us about Marston Farm. It was a case of love at first sight! Despite clearly requiring oodles of money, time, dedication and TLC, the place was calling out to us to make it our home. We felt it could provide a special family space, a place where extended family could eventually join us and a haven in which to share with others.
When we arrived at the farm it was home to an incredibly rusty railway wagon which we pledged to replace someday. In April 2016, our dream came true with the completion of Wiltshire’s only railway carriage accommodation, which was lovingly refurbished by local crafts people. We also offer The Beehive, a quirky bright and well appointed apartment, which sleeps two as a twin or double (and will accommodate one well behaved dog – charges and conditions apply). The Woodpecker, a generously sized two bedroom wooden cabin which sleeps three, completes our unique and diverse trio of accommodation on the edge of Swindon.
As a family with two children and four rescue dogs, we have an array of interests and passions which include family, wildlife, all things old, helping those less fortunate than ourselves, respect for the earth, tasty food, engineering, diverse education and travelling. We hope you’ll enjoy being here as much as we do and look forward to hearing from you.
